The wildlife wing of the Meghalaya Forest Department has arrested a person with the assistance of police for killing an Asian black bear. This has been confirmed by Meghalaya Home Minister Lahmen Rimbui. A photograph of three hunters who killed a black bear has gone viral on social media. It is being informed that the bear was caught on 4 May by residents of Mavaparthu village underneath East Khasi Hills district.
Rimbui has knowledgeable that the authenticity of the pictures couldn’t be verified whether or not the bear was killed in Mavpirathuh village or another place in Meghalaya.
