King Arthur (Director’s Cut, 2004)
Here’s an fascinating state of affairs: director Antoine Fuqua made a Clive Owen starring King Arthur film that, if launched in its untouched type, would have been an R-rated movie. In the waning days of Disney’s Touchstone Pictures model, that was a chance the studio simply wasn’t into. A shorter, PG-13 model went to theaters, with King Arthur’s director’s reduce going to video upon the movie’s arrival on the house market. This reduce is roughly 15 minutes longer, with violence and blood from the R-rated model restored, in addition to some scenes eliminated and rearranged from that preliminary reduce.
