Despite his mild-mannered exterior, chef Tom Checketts from Below Deck Mediterranean is already feeling the warmth as he encounters one catastrophe after one other within the kitchen.
Cracks start to type when small issues happen. A damaged spatula. Having to shuck oysters with out an oyster shucker. “I think this is probably the roughest situation that Tom could have been thrown into,” bosun and girlfriend Malia White says in a confessional. “I’m pretty nervous. Like I feel like I’m going to be very protective of him.”
While he appears slightly pressured, Checketts lastly breaks down when a last-minute birthday cake request is made. He performs it cool when chief stew Christine “Bugsy” Drake delivers the request however vents to White. But that’s not the final time Checketts loses this constitution.
Chef Tom is already getting exhausted
Checketts tells White he came upon about birthday cake solely 30 minutes in the past. He laughs however feels the stress inside. “You could potentially make anything last minute,” he says in a confessional. “But it’s not necessarily what you’re capable of. “There’s this element of let’s f**king wind the chef up,” he says to White. “We’ve got one f**king chef and he’s cooking for the crew and what, he’s not entitled to a break? I don’t know, whatever. This is bullsh*t.” White seems to be shocked and anxious as Checketts then departs the cabin.
Does Captain Sandy have one other chef drawback?
Dinner service doesn’t go significantly better. The visitors complain that the oysters had shells in them. But when the seafood comes again as a result of it was “too raw” Checketts has had sufficient. “Too raw?” he asks Drake. “It’s fully cooked, it’s poached.” He begins to curse.
He continues to curse observing that the meals has been cooking for 2 hours. White stands by silently whereas she dries dishes. But Checketts appears to instantly get flustered. He seems to be for a potato however the one potatoes he can use are uncooked. “F**king potatoes,” he says as he tries to get Drake to go away the kitchen. “I’ll get a f**king raw potato,” he says to himself. “Where am I going to get a potato cooked now?”
“This isn’t what I thought I was signing up to when I came to visit Malia and was offered the job,” he says in a confessional. “What’s the point of me being on the boat if it’s not going to be right, what I serve?”

White takes him apart. “This is bullsh*t and suicide,” he tells her behind closed doorways. She tells him lunch was wonderful however he reminds her it was a problem. “I’m good at what I do. I don’t need to prove it. I’ve made a f**king big mistake. I’ve got way too much self-respect to do this.”
Checketts continues to journey on tough seas this season. Season previews present Yawn telling White to remain out of the kitchen however White says Checketts goes to go away the boat. Yawn additionally confronts Checketts over frozen fish. “I’m not gonna do this,” she say storming away.
