Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Pattan mentioned that the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders of the state have been requested to not say a phrase concerning the disputed amended citizenship legislation.

Pattan mentioned this in response to the query of TR Zeliang, the opposition chief within the meeting. Zeliang had requested why the state BJP MLA was sitting quietly in a session assembly convened by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on CAA in Delhi.

Pattan, chief of the BJP Legislature Party, mentioned that we didn’t utter a phrase as a result of our central leaders had instructed us.

Pattan rejected his demand saying that the folks of Nagaland is not going to be affected by this legislation as states with inside line permits are excluded from the purview of this legislation.
