Senior Samajwadi Party chief and Rajya Sabha MP Beni Prasad Verma has handed away after an extended sickness. Former Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma was unwell for a very long time and breathed his final at a hospital in Lucknow on Friday. He was 80. He was thought-about near SP founder member and former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

MP Beni Prasad joined Congress in 2008. In 2009, he contested from his previous seat Kaiserganj in Gonda, a parliamentary constituency with 15 per cent Kurmi voters. He gained the election, sensing the arithmetic of votes within the election. In the 2012 Vidhan Sabha elections, the Congress had put ahead this to tug backward class vote financial institution. In 2011, he was made Minister of State (Independent Charge) within the Ministry of Steel.
