'Jis thali mein khate hain…': Jaya Bachchan hits again at Ravi Kishan for 'defaming' movie trade

Always vocal about her opinions, Jaya Bachchan has slammed all those that have been badmouthing the Hindi movie trade ever because the drug angle in Sushant’ Singh Rajput’s dying case got here to the fore. Backing the trade, Rajya Sabha MP and veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, through the monsoon session of Lok Sabha, spoke in regards to the depreciating remarks being handed in opposition to Bollywood. 

Jaya Bachchan stated, “Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame jis thali mein khate hain ussi me chhed karte hain, galat baat hai. I need the protection, this industry needs protection and support of the government.” While Jaya refused to take any names, the assertion was apparently made in opposition to BJP politician and actor Ravi Kishan, who had lately claimed that the movie trade suffered from drug dependancy and that the NCB was doing a great job within the Sushant case.

Ravi Kishan, who himself comes from the leisure trade, had stated, “Drug addiction is in the film industry too. Several people have been apprehended. The NCB has been doing very good work. I urge the central government to take strict action against the culprits soon. Give them a befitting punishment and bring an end to this conspiracy by neighbouring countries.” 


In her speech, Jaya additionally condemned those that converse in opposition to the movie trade on social media. She stated: “People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that govt tells such people not to use this kind of language”.
