The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued discover to Mahesh Bhatt, Urvashi Rautela, Esha Gupta, Rannvijay Singh, Mouni Roy, and Prince Narula in a psychological and sexual abuse case. The B-town celebrities have been requested to report witness statements after social activist and founding father of Pari for India, Yogita Bhayana, filed a grievance in opposition to Sunny Verma, who is the promoter of IMG Ventures.
The grievance was filed for allegedly blackmailing and sexually assaulting women on the pretext of offering modelling jobs and initiatives to them. As per the grievance, a number of women have been victims of sexual and psychological assault by Sunny Verma and his confederate.
In a tweet, NCW wrote, “Despite directing to appear before the Commission and intimating the same through all possible modes of communication, these people have neither bothered to respond nor attended the scheduled meeting.”
“NCW has taken serious note of their non-appearance. The meeting has been adjourned to next date, ie, on August 18 at 11.30 AM. You will be sent formal notices again and non-appearance will be followed by action as per our procedures,” NCW wrote in one other tweet.
Just a few hours after the tweet was shared, Mahesh Bhatt’s authorized group issued a press release and mentioned, “Mr. Bhatt would like to bring to everyone’s attention that he has not received any such notice/summons or any form of communication from NCW as mentioned in their tweets.”
The assertion additional said, “Mahesh Bhatt would like to place on record that neither he is associated with IMG Venture or his promoter nor with any incident mentioned in their tweets in any manner whatsoever.”
Vishesh Films had earlier issued a clarification on Mahesh Bhatt’s behalf to speak about his involvement with IMG ventures. In the assertion, it was shared that the rumours of Mahesh’s involvement within the case are ‘fully false and incorrect’.
Mr Naik, authorized counsel and advocate for Vishesh Films, mentioned within the assertion, “The allegations made against our client Mr Mahesh Bhatt are made without verification of true and correct facts. We are taking legal action against all the news agencies who have reported false and defamatory articles.”
