Treason case, Pervez Musharraf and Interior Ministry petitions set for hearing in Islamabad High Court

ISLAMABAD (Sahiwal Tv – November 25, 2019 – Sheharyar) Islamabad High Court has set up a three-member larger bench to hear the various petitions filed by the government and Pervaiz Musharraf’s lawyer to halt the judgment of serious treason case.

According to the details, Islamabad High Court has constituted a larger bench to hear the petition filed by Musharraf’ s Lawyer to stop the treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf. The three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar minullah, will hear the petition tomorrow (Tuesday).

Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani will also be part of the bench. A petition filed by Musharraf lawyer has demanded that the special court be barred from proceeding until Musharraf gets a chance to be heard. The court’s order preserving the judgment of treason case should also be suspended.

The petition further said that the special court should be barred from proceeding till the new prosecution team is deployed. It may be noted that the special court reserved the judgment of treason case against former President General retired Pervez Musharraf on November 19.

On the other hand, in treason case, Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer Salman Safdar also approached the Islamabad High Court, saying that former president Pervez Musharraf could not appear in court due to severe illness.
