It has been over a month because the lockdown has been in place and it has resulted in a loss for a number of companies. Famous pastry chef Pooja Dhingra shared her story about how her South Mumbai cafe Le15, which was a cashflow business, needed to be shut down amid the lockdown. Pooja expressed her unhappiness over shutting down the cafe on account of unsteady income.
Sonam Kapoor consoled her in an heartwarming Instagram post. With an image of the actress posing with Pooja, as the 2 held a chocolate cookie every of their fingers and a plate of cookies within the different fingers, Sonam wrote, “I love you pooj @poojadhingra . Things are only going to get better from here I promise.”
Sharing her expertise on CN Traveller, Pooja wrote, “In 10 years, I haven’t had one day when I have truly disconnected from work. I fulfilled my dream of travelling to Peru and climbing Machu Picchu, and while I was on the top of the mountain, I was still thinking of Le15. What was happening in the kitchen? How were our sales? Could I log in for just a bit to check on things? But that first day of lockdown felt like my first real day off.”
She additionally talked about Le15 and wrote, “We couldn’t cover all our expenses without a steady stream of revenue coming in. I spoke to the team the next morning and told them that we had to shut for the next 10 days for our safety. I also explained our cash position to them honestly and told them I wouldn’t be able to cover their salaries for those 10 days without any revenues coming in.”
The lockdown first began within the final week of March owing to the rise in coronavirus circumstances in India. Later, PM Narendra Modi prolonged the lockdown until May 3. However, given the current state of affairs, the lockdown has been prolonged now.
