When CJ referred Oliver Cromwell in Musharraf Case !

Islamabad (Sahiwal Tv – December 19, 2019 – Courtesy Daily Pakistan) Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa has given the example of hanging a dictator’s body in the UK once during the Musharraf case hearing.

On March 25, 2019, the Supreme Court heard Taufeeq Asif’s plea against Musharraf’s absence from the special court and his travel abroad.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa gave the example of hanging a British dictator’s dead body.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that dictator Oliver Cromwell had thrown out a parliamentarian in Britain and used extremely harsh language. When he was no longer in power, Parliament decided to try treason case when Cromwell died. So it was decided that the dead body should be presented in court.

The Chief Justice said that the question arising was how to ask whether the dictator confesses his crime or not. The court decided the silence of the dead body to be considered his confession.
