new Delhi: Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank stated within the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that the Center will take stern motion towards those that will attempt to change the basic character of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). They will take powerful motion towards those that attempt to change the character of the college. The authorities is not going to hesitate from that.

In response to a supplementary query, he stated, 'Those who will attempt to change the character of the college, we’ll take powerful motion towards them. The authorities is not going to hesitate from that. A supplementary query was requested to the Human Resource Development Minister whether or not he would change the present Vice Chancellor in view of the rise in charges within the JNU campus.

In the context of eradicating deputation marks in JNU, he stated that in 2016, the variety of college students from rural areas in analysis diploma programs was 48.three p.c, which elevated to 51.42 p.c in 2019. He denied that the variety of college students coming from backward areas has decreased in JNU after the elimination of depletion marks.
